Weekend

Hello everybody again.
So the weekend has started and we became a little bit lazy but now we are back so.

Friday. Trip to Kernave and Trakai.

In early morning we started our educational trip to Kernave cultural reserve and Trakai historical park. First object was Kernave where we were introduced with history of Kernave city and why it was important to lithuania unfortunately the museum was closed and we couldn't see all the artifacts but we could look around the fortifications.

 

 Everybody were interested in Kernave reserve. After brief of history everybody went to look around. It was a little bit cold on the hills but we managed to survive.

 Some of us were feeling like good :) some were trying to fly:)

 Spanish team enjoyed snow that was left on the fortifications.

 After Kernave we had a trip to Trakai city and Trakai castle. First we had a lunch in restaurant "Senoji kibininė" where we tasted traditional that region food kibin because in Trakai region lives little nationality Karim who are making them.

  

After lunch everybody was ready for the last invasion to Trakai castle. Where we got information about why it is important to Lithuania people and what was going on there when people where living in it.  

 For bad jobs somebody even got punished :)

 Of course we had very nice guide that told everything about castle's history and dukes of Lithuania.

Saturday. Trip to Pažaislis monastery and Kaunas old town

So on Saturday we had a trip to Pažaislis ensemble where Camaldolese monastery is. There we where introduced with history of monastery and very strict rules of monks' life. Because of very strict living only 6 monasteries of Camaldolesian monks are left in the world. Unfortunately no photos were allowed to take in the church and in the monastery so we can upload only some photos from the yard.

After Pažaislis ensemble we went back to the bus and started our trip to Kaunas old down where we visited some of first object was Kaunas castle which is one of the oldest masonry castles in the Lithuania

 

After Kaunas castle we visited St. Jurgis martyr Church which is near castle and then went to see Kaunas town hall  that is called "White Swan" and Vytautas church.

 And of course Together we Love Kaunas. So stay with us.

So today we had and interesting lecture about Web 2.0 and possibilities to promote sustainable tourism through its' tools. The lecture was held by Adrián Broz Lofiego.

Nowadays social media has huge possibilities to promote different things because a lot of people are using it and you can reach wide auditorium of people. But still there is one issue how to make it sustainable in movie you can see one of the solutions.

After the lecture for every national team task was given and it was to analyze other national team's website and blog and give recommendations what should be done to make it better.

 

Teams had a hot discussion about each others websites and blogs but finally they got pluses and minuses of their jobs and was introduced by the objects that should be repaired.
After that Kaunas University of Applied Sciences teachers came and gave us information about project trip tomorrow to Kernave and Trakai.

 

and of Course the tasks :(

 After this we finally had our lunch break when we could eat our meals and take some rest before the biggest jobs our workshops in which we were analyzing different aspects of sustainable tourism. So finally teams ended up with environmental and cultural aspects (maybe not all of them :) )

As you can see from the photos teams have found different answers and dived into the discussion what could be the reason for this and were trying to make recommendations to implement and develop sustainable tourism in different countries which will be put into final paper.

Jobs are getting into the motion

So finally after some difficulties we have started our workshops in international teams. Today before lunch we had lecture about culture tourism. Where lecturer Asta Valaitytė-Brish presented main aspects of culture tourism and what  benefits and problems can culture tourism give to us.

After our lunch we had a little bit of time to relax and take a rest then we started our jobs.

Where we had discussed  environmental aspects and the survey results for this aspect.

And guess what? We have found some interesting things in summaries of the results and we were trying to find the reasons for different opinions from different countries.

Stuck in the midlle

Hi again

So we had some technical issues with statistical data but you got threw them and we are working further. The leaders are discussing about what data is the most important and what should be extracted to show the most important aspects of survey.

Finally we have started our project. Today all teams have presented themselves and their analyzes about survey. New international teams have been assembled and they will start their work tomorrow.

The criteria

Hello we are working further for our project. We have determined 10 criteria and one member of our team made an interview with workers of our home town tourism information centers and determined 5 criteria that are priorities' when chosing cultural route in our country. We posted word file in our team website where you can see all of them bold criteria are the priorities.
